To get credit for the dungeon in Hard Mode, do you have to do each part in HM or just kill Duncan in HM? I assume jsut kill Duncan but just want to make sure.

and yes, only Duncan needs to be done in HM. All the bosses leading up to him can be killed in NM (unless you want double items from chests...)

I've had to do it all in hardmode before. It wouldnt take the quests if i did them in nm, then dunc in HM. Besides, it's only logic. They're all one quest to a major dungeon. Why only do part the tough way to get a full bonus reward?

Because that's the way it works, Helix. Why do the entire dungeon string in HM when you don't need to?

I have one character with LMotN (one is enough ><) - and I have never done Thomis/Rand er, and the rest ...in HM. To quote the official wiki:
